1. About these terms
These terms apply to the ZIRUP website (zirup.org), the online membership application and the member portal, operated by the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (“ZIRUP”, “we”). By applying for membership or using the portal you agree to them.
2. Membership applications
You must provide true, complete and current information and genuine supporting documents. Submitting an application and paying the application fee does not guarantee admission: all applications are decided by the ZIRUP Council. Application fees are non-refundable once the application has been considered. Approval does not activate membership until the applicable membership fee has been paid.
3. Fees and renewals
Membership fees are payable annually according to your membership class and the fee schedule published by ZIRUP. We send reminders before your renewal date. Membership that is not renewed within the grace period is shown as expired on the public register until payment is received.
4. Certificates and public verification
Membership and practising certificates remain the property of ZIRUP and are valid only for the period shown. Anyone can confirm a certificate by scanning its QR code or entering a membership or practising number on the website. The verification page shows only the details ZIRUP has approved for publication. Altering or misusing a certificate may lead to disciplinary action.
5. Your personal information
We collect the information in your application and portal account to assess your application, administer your membership, issue invoices and certificates, communicate with you, and maintain the public register. Supporting documents are stored privately and seen only by authorised ZIRUP staff and Council members. We do not sell your information. You may ask to see or correct the information we hold by opening a support ticket or contacting the office.
6. Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used it.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
